The City Rooms plays host to the launch of the third annual Leicester and Rutland Restaurant Awards on 27th June 2007. As ever, the awards promise to fire up the competitive spirit of restaurateurs throughout the two counties as the public get their say on a whole host of categories from best fine dining to most family friendly restaurant.
This year’s awards see the continued support of the title sponsor, leading business advisors, Cooper Parry, for the third consecutive year as well as support from Harvey Ingram Solicitors, Angelo Po, the East Midlands Food & Drink Festival, Heart FM, Likeminded, Fosse Shopping Park and Valdivieso in respect of the individual awards.

The growing number of quality eating establishments goes hand in hand with the regeneration of the region, and we are proud to be playing our part.’
Once again the public will be asked to vote for their favourite eateries in ten individual award categories from 1st July – 12th August via the dedicated website www.lrra.co.uk with the top three establishments in each category going to individual panels of experts in the field of food and drink to decide who will scoop the accolade of best in category.
The independent judges will consist of editors, journalists, reviewers and authors, some freelance and some from the nation’s top food and drink publications as well as representation from business sector media and, of course, local journalists.
To entice the public to participate, each vote will be entered into a prize draw and one lucky voter will win a luxury weekend for two at Stapleford Park Country House Hotel & Sporting Estate. The prize includes 2 nights’ accommodation with full English breakfast and dinner in the house each evening – choosing from the table d'hote menu – plus a bottle of champagne in the room on arrival and a treatment each in the new spa.
All nominated venues and, of course, the winners will be announced at a glitzy Awards Ceremony to be held on Wednesday 3rd October at Stapleford Park.
